Fringe Venue 209 Opens with the Young (North) British Artists

On Friday night we became Venue 209 in the Fringe Festival. We opened the doors and the corks at 7pm and the turnout was our busiest yet. There was a great buzz surrounding the fact that the 16 artists that were exhibiting, were all either recent graduates or emerging Scottish talent. Figurative artists are relatively overlooked in Edinburgh so it was exciting to have such a big celebration of this genre. The prosecco flowed and the music blared a sight you wouldn't have seen on Dundas Street in the past but hopefully you'll see a lot more of in the future. Thanks to everyone who came along and supported us and made the evening so unforgettable.

Axoltol Arrives in the Gallery!

On Friday 6th to coincide with the opening of our first ever Fringe Show, Godot the Axolotl arrived in the Gallery. For anyone that hasn't seen one of these creatures before, they really are remarkable, with their strange translucent pink skin, little hands and staring eyes. Godot will be taking up residency in Dundas Street, making it much easier for us to explain the unusual name of the gallery!
