I like dipping into the lucky-bag of history and popular culture- with it's abundance of icons and symbols-- Iconic images are powerful and can exploit us-- But for me- it's often about taming and exploiting them for my own ends--Offering the viewer fresh insights into their power- like a kind of liberation-- The means I use are primarily those of the traditional painter-
